New NetApp not so new.

Hot on the heels of the news that HDS can't manage the storage capacity of their own email servers it turns out that not only wasn't NetApp's new name new but the logo isn't either.

Netappvsnovatio Novatio are based in the Netherlands and so is NetApp's EMEA HQ if I recall. One wonders if the brain wave for the new logo didn't occur during someone's morning commute.

Hark! I hear marketing defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory.

Not to worry, OnTap 8 is due before the end of the decade so they'll get another shot. I wonder what the marketing for that will be like?

Everytime I see the new NetApp logo - I can't help but think "BlueArc". Perhaps not such a smart move...

That is interesting, I had never seen the Novatio logo before.

NetApp's new logo and branding are long overdue in my opinion. They spent too many years going deep with customers on iSCSI/SAN and forgot about their core business - NAS-CIFS/NFS.

Anyway, back on topic. I thought the marketeers were going more the route of the Champs-Élysées and L'Arc de Triomphe, unless you live in New York City, then you are thinking more Fifth Ave and Washington Park.
