A peek at NetApp A-SIS

Last time we heard about NetApp A-SIS it was limited to FlexVols of a size no greater than 4TB, couldn't de-dup across FlexVols, couldn't de-dup LUNs, and had to be scheduled to run.

We now know that it can support FlexVols of up to 16TB in size, I'm unsure of if it can de-dup LUNs or not, it can't de-dup across FlexVols, and it looks like it still has to be scheduled to run.

So it's not global and it's not real time.

Low change rate NAS File systems meet A-SIS, everybody else keep walking.

In other news it looks like Cisco plan on screwing Decru.
